The main objective of the project is to define and validate a product derivation methodology that is practicable in industrail application. The consortium intends to use both the product line approach and structure-oriented configuration technologies. Furthermore, it has the following sub-objectives:

to use separate benefit feature and artefact models and to develop intermediate knowledge representations to connect them,
to validate the methodology with industrial-scale applications,
to define a configuration notation that has the expressiveness to handle the variability endemic in
industrial product lines and
to define strategies to maimise the reuse of available generic software components.
